Hand Rolled Incense

Sandalwood

Sandalwood may center the mind, nourish the skin, and enhance meditation. Prized in Ayurvedic, Buddhist, and Taoist traditions, it is used as both a sacred scent and therapeutic oil. Studies suggest sandalwood may reduce anxiety and improve focus through its calming, woody aroma.

Copal Resin

A natural tree resin rich in terpenes and antioxidants, Copal has been traditionally used for its purifying and anti-inflammatory properties. In skincare, it supports cellular turnover, helps clarify congested skin, and promotes a brighter, more even complexion. Its antimicrobial activity helps reduce breakouts and calm irritation, while its subtle, resinous aroma brings a grounding sensory layer to topical rituals.

Benzoin

Hojari Frankincense

Originating in the Dhofar Mountains of Oman, this variety has been used in incense and medicine for over 6,000 years in ritual, medicine, and perfumery. Its resin is dense and aromatic, with potent rejuvenating effects. Traditionally burned as incense or used in oils, it is known to purify space, soothe the lungs, and support meditative states. Rich in alpha-pinene and boswellic acids, it offers potent anti-inflammatory, anxiolytic, and antimicrobial properties.

Each material comes from the region where the species grows, from harvesters who work those trees directly. The sandalwood is farm-grown S. album from Australia. The species is listed Vulnerable by the IUCN, and plantation wood leaves wild trees standing. The benzoin is from Sumatra, where buying the resin gives standing forest more value than clearing it for oil palm. The copal is tapped in the Sierra Sur of Oaxaca. The frankincense is three grades of B. sacra from Oman.
